Aspen Mini Aussies

Meet the Breeders
As long-time neighbors, our friendship grew over our love of our Australian Shepherds. With our combined knowledge and experience, we decided to start a small breeding program together in the comfort of our homes, ensuring a loving family setting for all of our puppies and their parents.

I am a mama of six now-grown children and Mimi to eight of the most amazing grandchildren. Dogs have always been part of our family, and I couldn’t imagine a life without them. 13 years ago, I was first introduced to the miniature Australian Shepard that stole my heart and made me fall in love with the breed. His name was Maverick. He was everything a mini Australian Shepard should be and all that I adored about them. He began to have some health issues, and this began my research into breed-specific genetics, health concerns, and remedies through both traditional medicine and holistic approaches. The more I learned, the more interested I became. One by one, our pack grew. It seemed like every one in the family needed their own dog! 🤣 This sparked my interest in breeding to ensure healthy genetics and stellar traits, allowing me to make a small but positive contribution to this incredible breed.

I have been an animal lover all my life, raised with dogs, cats, and horses. I was always bringing home some critter and begging my parents to “please let me keep it.” I got my first Aussie, Josh, at 19 while studying pre-vet medicine at the University of Nevada.
I got my girl Jilly at 29. We had our first litter several years later. I began raising Quarter Horses several years after that and did so for almost 40 years. I have shared my life with many breeds of dog, but my love and commitment to Aussies, both Standard and Mini, has never wained.
